My blog turns 2 today, so I baked it a cake! Seriously, I baked my blog a cake. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I really consider my second year of blogging my first true year of blogging. My sister and I started working on my blog together a little over a year ago (see our first post together here), and it changed blogging for me. I cannot even express how important it is to have a supportive partner (in anything in life) and when my sister started taking my photos and scouting locations and telling me to never quit my blog got SO MUCH BETTER. And to all of you- honestly, thank you for reading this year. I love your comments. You are all so sweet, and it means the world to me that you care about my clothes and my ramblings and my books and my thoughts.

Now, this cake. I have been wanting to make this Southern Living cake ever since they featured it in their 50th Anniversary issue came out last February. The Hummingbird Cake is their most requested recipe ever, and since I'm such a big fan of SL, I just had to give it a whirl. And it was delicious. A spice cake with cream cheese frosting- you just can't go wrong. I think it should be a staple recipe for every home baker. The only thing that I wish I would have done differently: I sliced my bananas and then did a really rough chop, and I think it made my cake a little crumbly. I think I would smash my bananas ร  la banana bread next time, and I think it would hold up a bit better. (And I would have made significantly more frosting - the more frosting the better!)

Recipe here.

First post ever here. Last year's blog bday here.
