I don't think I have ever mentioned on the blog, but my favorite author is Lucy Maude Montgomery. I have however snuck in a few hints here, here, and here. I love the Anne of Green Gables series so much that I feel like I know Anne and her family intimately and consider them kindred spirits.
I picked up my mom's copy of Days of Dreams and Laughter, which includes three of LM Montgomery's other books. The first is The Story Girl, which I read and loved. It was such a different time back then, and I love the innocence and sweetness of the characters. The TV series Avonlea was based on this book, which I watched all the time growing up, so it was fun to reconnect with the characters. Did anyone else watch that show?
It was a lovely, golden-brown evening; the orchard, and the farm-lands beyond, were full of ruby lights and kissing shadows.
Why You Should Read It:
It's still a classic LM Montgomery, but a story outside of the Anne series.
