things that go well with books :: favorite nyc coffee shops

How cute is this subway map converted to coffee shop stops?  It inspired me to share my personal favorite coffee shops in New York, which I feel all go very well with a good book.

Blue Bottle Coffee:  Blue Bottle is my favorite coffee shop in New York City.  It actually originated in California, but I am so happy they migrated to the East Coast.  The first time I had this coffee, I could not believe how good it was.  I'd never tasted anything like it!  I feel very fortunate that there is one located in the concourse level of my office building.  And they serve their baked goods in a coffee filter rather than a pastry bag- doesn't get much cuter than that!

Amy's Bread:  Amy's Bread will always have a special place in my heart.  When I first moved to NYC, I was alone and scared, and frankly, extremely naive.  I lived in Hell's Kitchen right across from Amy's, and I always felt so happy and cozy that first autumn when I'd venture over for a coffee and muffin.

The Queens Kickshaw:  I've sang my praises for The Queens Kickshaw on the blog before, but wanted to include it here since it is the best cup of coffee you can get in my neighborhood.  Love.

Starbucks:  Don't hate me for including Starbucks!  It's just they are on every corner, and it's always a consistently good cup of coffee!  Plus, I worked there in high school and took a lot of pride in my barista skills.

What are your favorite coffee shops?
