📚 from the books :: the phantom tollbooth 📚
I had so much fun rereading The Phantom Tollbooth. I actually remembered most of the book, which likely means it can have a major impact on a young reader. When I was young, the doldrums and conclusions really stood out to me for some reason (you'll know what I'm talking about if you've read the book). But this time around the Valley of Sound really appealed to me. I thought it was almost poetic to think of being able to see sounds. It seemed to make perfect sense that a handclap would be a clean sheet of white paper or laughter would be tiny brightly colored bubbles.
So many things are possible just as long as you don't know they're impossible.
Why You Should Read It
If you didn't read it as a kid, you definitely missed out, but fear not, it's just as entertaining and endearing as an adult.
