how i combat dark circles

how i combat dark circles

I'm unfortunately genetically predisposed to dark circles. They're always there. No matter how much sleep I get, I'll always have a bit of dark circle around my eyes. And let's be honest, by week's end I'm typically low on energy from lack of Zzzz's (I need 10 hours a night to be a fully functioning human, and I typically get about 6), and my dark circles have turned into bags (albeit designer πŸ˜‚). So years of experience and a lot of trial and error have helped me to nail down a routine to combat dark circles.

Once I've cleansed and prepped my skin with a primer, I apply Giorgio Armani Master Corrector in Orange with a blender brush. I focus on the inner corners of my eye, under my eye where I get a bit of a bag going on, and then on the upper-inner corner of my eye. It goes on really orange so you honestly look a little crazy, but orange cancels out purple, and it's the first step to covering it all up.

After I've applied the corrector, I apply my foundation all over my face making sure I do a layer around my eyes and over my eyelid. I'll use my usual concealer for any redness or imperfections, then I focus back on my eyes. I discovered tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector back in August, and it's ah-mazing. I take my little Benefit concealer brush and apply it to the same area I applied the Master Corrector. I then pat it in with my finger. The thicker, clay-like formula is perfect for really concealing dark circles. It brightens your entire eye and makes you look like you've been asleep for the last decade and just woke up to grace the world with your presence. You're welcome, world!
