Now that the weather is warming up, I am taking full advantage of the outdoor activities my city has to offer. I packed up a picnic and took it to Sheep Meadow in Central Park for an evening picnic.
Wonder is a recent read of mine. I can't remember exactly where I first heard about this book (although I think it may have been this New York Times review), but it has been extremely popular, especially in the late elementary/early middle school age group. I found it impactful from an adult perspective as well though. It reminded me of what it feels like to be a child and the challenges they face, and how those early years can shape the person you become later in life.
WHEN GIVEN THE CHOICE BETWEEN BEING RIGHT OR BEING KIND. CHOOSE KIND.
A simple, beautiful reminder to people of all ages.
Why You Should Read It:
A wonderful first novel by R.J. Palacio, I believe it will become a cornerstone of children's literature for years to come.
