My Dress: Cynthia Steffe, My Shoes: Joie // Hope's Dress: ASOS (non-maternity)
A few weekends ago, my mom and I hosted a baby shower for my sister, Hope. This is the first baby in our family, so it has been really exciting. I cannot stop spoiling him already. :) These are just a few photos from my iPhone of the details at the shower.
Of course, one of the gifts I got Baby Parker were some books. I found these fantastic BabyLit books that are based on the classics. The illustrations are so cute and the stories are obviously great. I got him the three pictured above but would love to complete the collection. There is nothing better than the gift of reading!
Hope is a teacher and knows how important reading is early on. Parker isn't even officially here yet, and she reads the same book, Quick as a Cricket, to him every night in order to establish reading as a calming experience and introduce him to rhyme and rhythm.
Hope's Favorite Quote:
better to sail with a moody good captain than a laughing bad one
Why You Should Read Them to Your Little One (or Someone Else's):
These are a great way to introduce the classics at a very young age. Familiarizing children with great authors and stories can lead to a life long love of reading.
